Hello,

I am finding that when I use AutoCAD 2013, on Windows 7 64-bit, there are hundreds of .png images being recycled (see attached). Does anyone know what causes this, or how to fix it?

Thanks,

Dane

Hi,

do you really use plane AutoCAD? .... or a vertical like ACA or Civil3D?

Interesting would be, when these PNG's appear. E.g. Just to stast AutoCAD/verrtival and quit it without drawing anything ... or have you used something like a catalog browser?

These PNG files are thumbnails from tool palettes. Do you refresh your tool palettes (manually or programatically)?

I am using straight AutoCAD 2013, but I do have the Civil 3D Object Enabler installed.

I never use tool palettes, keep them closed and don't ever refresh them manually.

I'm running AutoCad Architecture 2013. I also am wondering where these images are coming from. I have over 3000 *.png along with plot style table files and Autocad tool catalog files in the recycle bin. From my recycle bin I can find the properties and their origin is: "LongPathFiles". None of them are very large just a few kilobytes.

If these are simply being updated online howcome it needs to send  the obsolete file to the recycle bin? Is there anything volatile when I empty the recycle bin? What happens if I restore them?

If you change the View Style in the Recycle bin to Details, you will be able to see the files' original location.  That may provide a clue...
