Hi @Anonymous

Have a look at the some of the pointers which I provided HERE

I know that you might be feeling a bit stressed out regarding the exam, but here are a couple of additional pointers:

  • The questions are setup in such a way that any that more than one of the answers sounds right, but then read the question again and carefully. Then answer the question. This is quite important as the pass mark required for the exam is 80% and up. So they would obviously try and "trick" you, but after writing the exam, you'll actually feel that they didn't try and trick you, as long as you read the questions asked carefully and enter exactly what is asked of you.
  • If they ask you to open a drawing, then maybe offset and join a couple of elements, and move some elements around, then to measure the distance between object A and B, and they require the answer with 3x decimal places, then make sure to only provide the answer with 3x decimal places and not more or less. Care with rounding.
  • Manage your time, if you spend more than 1 minute to figure out what they require, mark the question and then go back to it after you finished with the other questions.

The Sybex range of books is worth the read as well! MASTERING AUTOCAD

I hope this helps and good luck with the exam! Smiley Happy

@Anonymous, one last resource is also Lynda.com. You'll have a free trial period which you can use to prep for the exam.

Have a look HERE or you could use CADlearning HERE and HERE is also a very quick & basic example of some of the questions.

I hope this helps!

In addition to @rudi.roux post, you'll always have access to AutoCAD (the application) during the exam which you'll need to use Alt+Tab to toggle between the application and the exam.

Just be calm and take it one step at a time, and you'll be ok. Smiley Wink

Good Luck!

Hi @Anonymous,

It's a pleasure. I'm not sure if you already have a set date for your exam, but you might want to join the Autodesk Student Expert program. The long and short regarding it is that you get certain benefits depending on your membership level. Like free access to CADLearning training videos in just about any Autodesk Software. This could serve as a great personal development platform along with networking potential. Browse through the student expert website a bit.

Another resource is the Autodesk Academy website (still developing on a daily basis). Both of these sites will provide you with a good foundation. Smiley Wink

Hi @Anonymous,

No, it is not required that you do the User Exam before the Professional Exam. The only thing that Autodesk recommends is that you do a course/training in AutoCAD (or equivalent), plus 400 hours of hands-on work with the software before taking the Professional Exam. If you feel confident that you have spent enough time using the software, then definitely go for the Professional Exam.

I hope this helps! Smiley Wink

I'm trying to find ONE UK Autodesk provider who will sell me the practice exams so I can "prep" for the actual exam. Soooo Frustrating that in the USA you can buy practice exams. Login for a limited amount of times and practice, but here in the UK. Autodesk providers want you to come to their centres and pay for £120 per time to "prep" for the exam.

Does anyone know a Autodesk reseller that can provide the practice exam which doesnt involve a HUGE expense to the user to travel to/from their place of residence please?
