Works fine, but we don't have proxy setting to go through: do you? Do you know what your proxy settings are?

Hi,

please have a lok at the following solution article:

2012: AutoCAD requests to Autodesk servers blocked by proxy servers

http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS16732564

if you change the settings as suggested - can you access AutoCAD Exchange?

Best regards

Silvia

Re: AutoCAD Exchange problems in AutoCAD 2012

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I too have a customer with the same problem. Everything functions accordingly except for the Exchange dialog box. Disabling the online content solves the problem but there should be a way to fix this. It doesn't seem to be tied to one specific operating system either.

I have tried the proxy settings solution with no success.

Anyone have a "real" fix for this?

Thank you,

Maybe some of the methods described here can help: How to disable/enable Autodesk Exchange

This is what I have observed on my clients machine.

Autocad 2012 starts up, the exchange window pops up and is blank. It remeains blank. I have never gotten the Connection unavailable error message. You dismiss the dialog box with no problem. When you hit F1 or type in help, help does NOT display. What is odd is that I can open a web browser and type in exchange.autodesk.com and it opens with no problem. This tells me it is not a proxy setting or port problem as I would not be able to get to it in a regular browser window. So it must mean that the Exchange window within AutoCAD accesses that content differently somehow.

Disabling Exchange either via the options dialog box or the registry fixes but does not solve the problem. There is no blank Exchange dialog box and the help works but I want to be able to use exchange within AutoCAD the way it was meant to work.

This isn't about if exchange is valuable or not, it is about getting something to work correctly that came with the product.

I wonder if it can be a similar problem as described here: http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS1053941

Have you managed to resolve this yet?

We have the same issue.

We use MS ISA server 2006 as our proxy, win 7 64bit machines.

Need to know how to allow Autocad Exchange by pass the proxy. Altering settings in internet options advanced exceptions does not solve the issue.

Andrew,

Yes, It appears AutoCAD does NOT send any authentication.

If your proxy server requires Authentication then no internet appears possible inside AutoCAD.

The only option you have is to stop your proxy server from asking for a username. Usually proxy servers ask for a user name to log which users are visiting which sites. Many proxy servers allow you to turn this off.

To fix this for Microsoft ISA 2004  or ISA 2006 proxies, the outgoing HTTP rules need to be set to 'ALL USERS' and not 'ALL AUTHENTICATED USERS'. In ISA 'All Authenticated Users' will force the application to supply a username and password.

I think this does need Autodesk to issue a fix. The fix should be simple (just push the currently logged in username and password) or have a box inside the autocad options to supply the authentication details,

Joe

Yes, we are aware about this behaviour and we have reported to the development,

till we have a fix only option is to allow anoymous access to the specified sites
