Quantity Model Properties reverting after each model update

I'm not sure if this is a global issue or whether it's just an issue with my particular workflow, but I will try to explain the best i can.

We publish our models to Assemble from within a master composite in Revit, which links each individual model. we create parts from linked models in the master composite, so that we have a separate "parts" model.

in Assemble, lots of model objects have a default quantity (CY for most concrete, SqFt for Floors, LF for Walls ect.). The quantity property allows us to select with which unit of measurement we want to quantify each object, from a drop-down list of whatever model quantities are available for each object. Sometimes we need to change the quantity type to a different unit for tracking purposes. This is easy to do, but for some reason is only temporary.

The problem arises when we update our models. it seems like every time the new models are uploaded, any objects that had the unit changed in the quantity property revert back to the defaults. this is an annoyance and it messes with the metrics in our Power BI report, so each time we have to manually go back and change the Quantity units.

Is there a way to fix this so it doesn't keep happening?

The "Quantity" property set in Assemble should persist between model iterations as long as the source IDs and source document IDs of the objects match between model versions. For example, if you are opening an IFC in Revit and then publishing to Assemble, the source ID of objects will not persist whereas a Revit authored model published by the same means each time (either as a host file or a linked file) should contain IDs that persist between iterations.

If you'd like to escalate this post we can investigate further for you to see why the Quantity value is not being carried forward between model versions.

Ashlee,

I tried again today on a model update just to be sure, and the same thing happened. i made sure the source id and source document id were the same as previous versions.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would please escalate this to try and discover why the quantity properties keep reverting to defaults after each model update.

Thanks!

Hi there,

@mprobertsMHZTJ , @ashlee.lydiard

same issue here, is there a way to save the quantity type in the assembly properties?

Kind regards,

Willem
