Hello,
New Smooth Relief tool slider is no good for repeatability, there seems to be no way to guarantee the same strength from one job to another.
2015, quantifiable number: 2017, random meaningless slider:
the slider is good but a number next to it would be nice for repeatability.

Many thanks for reporting this usability issue with the Smooth Relief tool in Autodesk ArtCAM Premium 2017 Service Pack 2 (build 199). I'll submit a change request to the Development team on your behalf requesting that you can specify the number of smoothing passes using a numerical value. I'll be sure to keep you updated on their response.
Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.
Kind regards,

If you download and install the fourth service pack for the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 product range, then select the Smooth Relief tool, its settings are displayed on the Tool Settings panel as shown below:
If you click and drag the Strength slider, the value in the Smooth Strength box is adjusted accordingly. Likewise, If you specify a value in the Smooth Strength box, then click Apply, the Strength slider is repositioned accordingly.
After downloading and installing the fourth service pack for the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 product range, please be kind enough to accept this post as a solution. Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation.
Kind regards,
