project panel is not responding

hi,

trying to do a project this morning.
project panel doesnt respond.

toolpaths don't respond either. they just crash.

this all started today.

i updates to service pack 3. but nothing changed.

 

is there a fix?

This intermittent interface issue was first reported in the initial Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 release. For the cases in which the Development team were able to reproduce the issue, fixes were implemented in subsequent service packs. Unfortunately, it seems as though the same issue persists in other circumstances. The Development team are currently working on implementing additional fixes, and I expect them to be included as part of a future software update for the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 product range.

 

In the meantime, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Shut down Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 Service Pack 3 (build 298).
  2. Using Windows Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ArtCAM 2017\Exec on your computer.
  3. Right-click the ResetArtCAM2017Workspace.exe file, then select the Run as administrator context menu option.
  4. Restart Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 Service Pack 3 (build 298).

sorry fix was the wrong word...i guess

jonathan sorted it out.

project panel started working once i went to "reset" via startup menu

There can be several implemented fixes for what appears to be a single issue in software.

 

The Start menu shortcut you mention runs the executable file specified in my previous set of instructions:

 

Start-AllApps-AutodeskArtCAM2017-ResetWorkspace.png

Nonetheless, I'm pleased to hear that you've successfully reset the workspace in Autodesk ArtCAM Premium 2017 Service Pack 3 (build 238).

I would like to inform you that the fourth service pack for the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 product range (Free, Standard & Premium) is now available to download through the Autodesk Desktop App, as announced here by @dillon.moulder.

 

You can also download the fourth service pack for the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 product range from the Product Updates area of your Autodesk Account.

 

The behavior reported in previous Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 releases where dialogs and the Project panel became frozen has been fixed in Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 Service Pack 4 (build 268). Details of the fixes and enhancements included in the fourth service pack for ArtCAM 2017 are listed here.

 

I request that you download and install Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 Service Pack 4 (build 268).
