I had nothing to do today (nothing I wanted to do is more like it)
so I did a little modeling of nothing. here's a pic
My wife found this photo and said she liked it and wanted me to make it (the model is close to the image but not too close). I think she has something in mind for me to do some (dirty word) work.

Good luck for getting this completed Mike!
Will be happy to see the finished part.
Thank you again.
Kind regards,
Dan????,
Guessing on your first name.
What I did was and what I used
Made a circle then made a smaller one then used the block copy tool then used the shape editor to give the shape.
here's video to see how I did it. Umm I was using 2015 r2 on this pc It's basically the same for 2017, so I hope there will be no confusion.

Mike, a short cut to copy a vector is just hold down the ctrl key and drag a copy off with the mouse

Dan,
I like control, I really haven't used the texture flow tool much, mainly because I am a control freak. With such a small area like that center button it would just be a waste of time with the texture flow tool. The block copy tool is fast and easy.
By the way your welcome (about the video).
There is a tool I have really enjoyed the last year or so and that's the new one in the sculpting tools The "Putty tool" this so much fun making junk wasting time just playing.
