Camera (AA): 10) seems very high for such a simple scene. I would have thought 5 would be sufficient.

How many light samples are you using?

Are there any render warnings in the log file?

How long does GPU take, btw?

Attached is the rendered output with the camera sampled at 5. The light sampling only gives 3 for domelight, and only 1 for the other lights. the logs do not report errors.01.jpg

How long does it take on GPU with OIDN denoising (Camera (AA): 5)?

Still rendering. It's been eight hours.01.jpg

It's hard to tell why rendering is taking so much time without knowledge of scene illumination and materials. Obviously the shield's material has a subsurface shading component. Try reducing SSS samples.

wernienst_0-1723224549255.png

In this simple scene I've set an environment (HDRI) and a spot light. The shield insets have a displacement map assigned. The greenish material has a transmission weight of 0.2 and a SSS weight of 0.8.

Rendering times on my (average) computer with Oidn Denoiser applied are: CPU (Camera AA = 4)  3min 23 sec, GPU (Camera AA =8) 56 sec.

Ah, I forgot to mention that I'm using 3dsMax 2024 and MAXtoA 5.7.3.0

You have AA_max of 40 and adaptive threshold at 0.01: that's why it's taking so long. If you turn off adaptive sampling or raise the adaptive threshold (maybe 0.05?) the render should get much faster. It will of course be noiser, but as @wernienst said you can add the OIDN denoiser to remove small amounts of noise.
