General Maps not rendering with GPU

Hi All.

I tried out GPU rendering today for first time . I'm using 3dsMax 2024 .

As far as speed goes its way faster then CPU , but I'm losing some maps when I switch to GPU rendering. Basically, in my scene I am using the 'Tiles'  map from the 'General' section of the Maps browser to create floor tiles on a plane. When I use CPU it renders perfect but with GPU it doesn't render the 'Tiles' map. Can anyone suggest an alternative or a fix please ?

I presume you have Legacy 3ds Max Map support enabled, otherwise it wouldn't render with CPU.

It is probably not supported with GPU. You could try a native Arnold shader like cell_noise or an OSL shader instead.

Thanks a lot Lee.

Yes I had compatibility Mode for '3ds Max Maps Support' selected.

Thanks for the alternative suggestion 🙂

I'll give that a go.

Kind regards

Just to update. I used an OSL map plugged into the Arnold Standard Surface. Worked great. It was the OSL Simple Tiles map.

Thanks for your help Lee.

Much Appreciated
