Noice produces negative pixel values

Hi there,

We've been running some tests using noice in our studio, and whilst the denoising results are fantastic we're struggling. We've found so far that beauty renders with rgb pixel values above 1 produce negative values in the output denoised exr, which is obviously not desirable!

Reproduction steps:

Run a noice job on an exr render containing superbright pixels

Denoised output produces negative pixel values in previous superbrights

Version:

noice 7.1.3.1 running on linux

If this has been fixed in an update we haven't got installed, that would be great to know. If not, is there a work around or a bug to be addressed in a future update?

Many thanks!

This is a known issue and tagged internally as ARNOLD-8040. In the meantime, have you tried using the Intel OIDN denoiser that's also included with Arnold?

Thank you, glad to hear it's a known issue. We were hoping for a denoise solution for after a render has finished, but we may look into intel OIDN for future use. thank you!
