How to specify open-exr output via .ass

I hope this is the correct forum.  I use Arnold by building a text "ass" file and specifying that to "kick.exe".  I would like to specify the output driver to be Open EXR and also to set various parameters associated with EXR.  All documentation I have found so far assumes one is using a front end like Maya or 3DS Max, but I am not.  Does anyone know how to do this or point me to the relevant documentation?

Thank you,

MW

I guessed that if there was a "driver_tiff" command in the .ass files, that there would be a "driver_exr" as well.  And there was although I am not sure that the file created was valid yet because I cant look at it.

This is disturbing because that means that what I have been using for .ass information is not comprehensive.  Who do I talk to about this?

Ha ha, the forum asks if I "accept the solution" that I myself provided.  Well, uh, sortof, but no, I still need to know what the parameters are for the "driver_exr" tag.

You have to specify the outputs in the options node.
Each output has a driver and a filter (but all outputs could use the same, for example, for a merged exr).

The driver determines the output format.
