How to extract arnold object ID from maya to nuke (with ACES).We rendered output from maya and want to use in nuke to isolate ID.Is there any gizmo we can use for the same (have tried Cryptomatte and ColorPickerID).Looks like Object ID is getting generated in negative value from maya (with ACES).one of the reason cryptomatte will not showing true color of ObjectID but will work to separate ID.
Why is there colour management applied to your data aovs? They should just be interpreted as raw data..
For working without any problem with ACES, you need render in ACEScg.
If you render in sRGB, and converting sequences to ACES in nuke, you need load you masks in different sequences with conversion to ACES RAW.
If you have a multilayer exr, copy you Read node and change conversion to ACES RAW, and take mask from this read file.
@Zeno Pelgrims even if we render in linear and take to aces as raw in nuke still it gives wrong values/color. This work fine in nuke linear work space but project requirement is in aces.
Hi Slava,
Are you giving this solution for Cryptomatte or Object ID? Object ID is coming proper from maya to nuke with aces/linear but, we don't know how to extract in nuke. For cryptomatte rendered with aces/linear in maya it's doesn't show proper values/color in nuke for aces, values goes in negative but works perfect in nuke default/linear.
Because cryptomatte is not working properly in aces nuke. We rendered Object ID from Arnold but we don't know how to extract it in nuke
I working only with ACES and Cryptomatte, all work fine without any trouble if working correctly.
First, you need render you sequences in ACEScg not in ACES/Linear, and reading in script with colorspace ACEScg.
Second, for working with cryptomatte you need "Cryptomatte gizmo" in nuke.
Third,
if sequences rendered in sRGB, in nuke with ACES in read node for all
MASK (cryptomatte,ID and etc.)need set colorspace ACES-Utillity-RAW.
Only this way working correctly.
