Hi,
When creating a simple custom AOV with an aiUtiliy shader set to UV mode. Alone that works as intended, but with the addition of a "aiAtmosphereVolume" environment shader (completely zeroed out) it greys out the custom AOV.
Is this a known issue?
MtoA 3.1.2.1
Arnold Core 5.2.2.1
Maya 2018.2
Thanks,
Andrew

If there's an atmosphere, then the aov shaders are evaluated as atmosphere shaders instead of as surface shaders. That's by design.
If there is a background, then it would be evaluated as a background shader.
Okay thank you!
The issue comes in with a scene that has a volumetric render layer which requires an atmosphere shader, but the other render layers need this custom AOV to function correctly.
I will do a connection override instead to "turn on" the atmosphere shader for that individual layer instead.
