Contour filter slow as a batch render

Hi,

We have an issue with contour filter with 4.0.1.1 It's now slow while batch rendering ( ~40% CPU ) . It's fine in maya with arnold interactive rendering ( 100% CPU usage )

there is also still a problem with machines with high numbers of core like the 2990wx . It's working like a charm with other filter, but batch is super slow with contour. please help !

thanks :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

There's no reason for any difference. This is all on the exact same machine?j Can you post Arnold logs?

I wouldn't just use CPU usage as an indicator of performance. For instance, it's entirely possible that we go from 100% CPU time that takes 10s to 40% CPU time that now takes 5s by optimizing the code in a certain way. In the example you cite, could it be that IPR is at 100% simply because more CPU time is being spent doing other things required for IPR?

Having said that, it's entirely possible that yes something could be misbehaving, but the only way to really know is to see the batch render times before 4.0.1.1 and after 4.0.1.1.

The 2990wx not scaling to many threads is a known problem.

As for the IPR issue, see my other comment for the details we'll need for answering that.
