In the example here: https://support.solidangle.com/display/A5AFMUG/Combining+Normal+and+Bump+Maps
It has the normal map as sRGB and alpha is luminance. Is this correct or should it be Raw and alpha is luminance
I have set up in the same way but get a much darker result when set to sRGB
thank you
Gelöst! Gehe zur Lösung
Simple rules:
textures acting as color should be set to sRGB
textures acting as data should be set to RAW
thanks (liked and rewarded)
I am unsure here if a Normal map is color or data given it has color but acts as data?
normal map, bump map, displacement map: are data saved in RGB channel
Do you mean Raw?
thanks
like I sad any texture acting as data must be set to RAW
bump, normal, displacement, specular map roughtness map must be set to RAW
one exception: specular map if it act as color must be set to sRGB otherwise RAW
thank you. Interesting that the solid angle example (above) the normal is set to sRGB
thanks again
