Arnold Mesh Volume tag back to mesh to shade with toon

can i convert this back to a mesh so i can shade it with toon? @

would be possible to use a plane on front of the volume (like the refractive portraitst) as a "filter" and apply the contour to it? @

you do almost the same effect in Houdini and generate a mesh with it for toonn rendering. way simple than baking a volume shader displacment.
