Transparency seems to be limited

Hello,

I've been encoutering a problem, I wanted to follow a tutorial to create "Ghibli Clouds" in 3D (this one: https://youtu.be/RgRPUlFBHH4 ), this tutorial was for Blender, but I tried to follow adapting things to Maya.

Everything seemed to work perfectly except when I came to the part when he is duplicating planes, (time code around 7:39).

I managed to do it using MASH (while he was using Array Modifier of Blender), by replicating the plane with texture the amount of time that I wanted, but when I started rendering, on certain camera angles, it seems that light can't get through the transparent part of the planes and I have black borders that appear around the clouds like if the alpha was't working in certain areas because of the amount...

I'm talking about the part that looks like several black planesI'm talking about the part that looks like several black planesBut when the camera points the sides, it works perfectlyBut when the camera points the sides, it works perfectly

I thought MASH might be the cause for this problem, but I tried duplicating manually and it's still the same.

Sorry for the mistakes I could've done I'm still learning english ๐Ÿ˜…

Have a nice day !

What happens when you increase transparency_depth?

I didn't know that parameter existed, thank you for helping me !
If I increase the value, will the render time get very longer ?

No problem. Shouldn't be much longer I would have thought. Can you try it and post the results for the community to see here, please?

Hey, sorry for the late answer, but there it is !

(I've added a normal map on the texture of the cloud)

Increasing the transparency depth in the Render Settings>Ray Depth helped me fixing these black squares.

Thank you again !
