Render sequence crash

Hey there! I'm trying to render a sequence on my project but everytime it gives me crash. I tried to rebuild the same project by copying things one by one to a new project but at some point it breaks again too. What can I do? I use Maya 2023.2 and also tried to use 2022 and 2024, but same problem.

What version of mtoa are you using? Have you tried with the latest version in case it's an already fixed bug? If it fails after a certain point of adding things, that suggests something you are adding is causing a problem: try to identify what that is.

I tried use the latest version of Arnold too, didn't help. I thought it was arnold standin object first, but I deleted it and still doesn't work. I can assume this happens probably after saving a project?

What else is in the scene? Can you Win+Shift+S it and post it here?

I would hide half of the scene. See if the problem persists, then hide half of the remaining scene and keep going until you identify what is causing it to fail.

Just hide? Or better to delete from scene at all?

Hiding it should be fine.

I tried to hide first and second half of the scene and still I'm getting crash. Then I tried to hide everything and the problem is still there

  • Do you have an Arnold log (verbosity level Info) for a frame that crashes?
  • How many frames before the crash?
  • Test with a batch render. Still crash?
  • Scene crashes even though you've hidden everything? Can we see an Arnold log for that? And maybe export that empty scene to an ass file, and post that.

In the Arnold Render Settings. There's a Diagnostics tab, where you can set the verbosity, and enable file logging.

Got it! But after the crash arnold doesn't create a log. What should I do?
