Height Texture from Substance Painter is stretched in Maya

Hi!

I made texture in Substance Painter, but when I imported it to Maya the height stretched horizontally. The files (Maya & Substance Painter) are attached. How can I fix it?

Look the print screens bellow:

1) Perfect in Substance Painter

2) Imported to Arnold Maya

3) Adjustments in Arnold (Subdivision & Displacement Attributes)

4) The problem of stretched height continue

Does it help if you export the displacement maps at a higher bit depth? 16 or 32-bit (preferably exr)?

When the Height or Displacement file is .exr 32 bits, the stretching is worse

Freezing the geo seems to have fixed the displacement direction issue. Using an extreme displacement value got me this. Maybe it would look better with a 32-bit EXR.

Hi @lee_griggs !

I froze the object, but didn't work. I exported .exr 32 bits for the height file. You can see the screenshot below. The files are attached

01) Froze object

2) Positive Displacement Attributes Height = 4.000

3) Positive Displacement Attributes Height = 4.000

4) Negative Displacement Attributes Height = -4.000

What do you mean? I see no directional displacement in your screengrabs.

Here is the working scene file.

Hi @lee_griggs !

In your previous post, you said: "Freezing the geo seems to have fixed the displacement direction issue."

I thought of Freeze Transformations (screenshot below). Do not this is?... I'm sorry but this is the first time that I have worked with Substance Painter in Maya. Could you explain to me where I need to change? Thank you so much for your help

Yes, Freeze Transformations fixed the directional displacement for you, didn't it? Did you try my scene?

Hi @lee_griggs ! Sorry about the late reply! I was working... So I used your file, but didn't work. The files are attached. I work with Maya 2023.3 and Arnold MtoA 5.3.4.1

The config for export from Substance Painter is bellow.

Hi @lee_griggs!

I recorded it step-by-step. Please watch the video below and tell me what I'm doing wrong

These are the settings that I used. Not sure why you need to set the displacement so high, but it works.

hi @lee_griggs

The .exr files didn't work, but the .png files worked fine.

Thank you for being so helpful!
