Arnold Houdini Solaris, can't do final render with usdRenderRops

Hello,

Been trying to do final rendering using the usdRenderRop nodes, but it doesn't seem to spit out any image at all. I can see jobs being launched in the scheduler, but no final output image.

Seems like neither Render to disk, render to mplay, nor render in background works.

I'm currently on Houdini 18.5.596, and Arnold HtoA 5.6.2.0

Would greatly appreciate the help, thanks.

Hi!

I did a quick test locally and using the 5.6.2.0 htoa package with Houdini 18.5.596 works as expected when using the USD Render ROP.

Attached a super simple render setup that should work just fine: minimal_rendervar.hip.zip . Could you please give this one a try and let us know what happens?

Could you use Help / About Houdini, click on Show Details, use Save and send us the resulting file?

Thank you for the quick reply, and very kind of you to prepare the hip file, really appreciate it.

The hip file was very helpful, turns out I needed to add the renderVar and renderProduct nodes to be able to do final render.

Just curious though, I noticed that in this tutorial, it doesn't really show the need for renderVar or RenderProduct, has the workflow changed?

Last year I did a quick tutorial on how to create renderVar (AOV) with HtoA inside Solaris
For the RAW just use the same Arnold AOV name ( built-in AOV)
For LPE refer to: Light Path Expression AOVS

Hello,
I'm having the same problem : not rendered images from solaris / arnold

I have tried many scenes, included the example one here and nothing happened in both Mplay / exr writting

Arnold works normally out of solaris context

I can use arnold in viewport render from solaris

I'm on centos 7 - houdini 19.0.455py3 - htoa 6.0.2.0py3

any idea why ?

@Pal Mezei the sample you provided did work for me, however. The kitchen tutorial USD I am trying does not, no matter what I try.
