Hi,
I'm using packages to install Arnold and that works fine, but as soon as I install the GameDevTools Arnold fails to create a volume:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "arnold_volume", line 1, in <module> File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.327/houdini/python2.7libs\toolutils.py", line 1380, in new_func return function(*args, **kwargs) File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.327/houdini/python2.7libs\objecttoolutils.py", line 494, in genericTool exact_node_type = exact_node_type) File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.327/houdini/python2.7libs\objecttoolutils.py", line 428, in genericObjNodeGeneratorTool exact_node_type ) File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.327/houdini/python2.7libs\objecttoolutils.py", line 366, in createObjNode exact_type_name = exact_node_type) File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.327/houdini/python2.7libs\houpythonportion\ui.py", line 850, in decorator return func(*args, **kwargs) File "C:/PROGRA~1/SIDEEF~1/HOUDIN~1.327/houdini/python2.7libs\hou.py", line 8563, in createNode return _hou.Node_createNode(*args, **kwargs)MatchDefinitionError: Failed to match node type definition.Error: Bad node type found: arnold::standard_volume in /obj/arnold_volume1/shopnet/arnold_vopnet. GameDevTools auto adds these lines to houdini.env:
# GAMES DEVELOPMENT TOOLSET HOUDINI_PATH = $HOUDINI_PATH;$APPDATA\SideFX\GameDevToolset\17.5\1.203;&PATH = $APPDATA\SideFX\GameDevToolset\17.5\1.203\bin;$PATH
Arnold json package is like this:
{"env":[{"PATH": "$PATH;C:/Users/Jasper/htoa/htoa-4.2.0_rcd74057_houdini-17.5.327/htoa-4.2.0_rcd74057_houdini-17.5.327/scripts/bin"},{"HOUDINI_PATH":"C:/Users/Jasper/htoa/htoa-4.2.0_rcd74057_houdini-17.5.327/htoa-4.2.0_rcd74057_houdini-${HOUDINI_VERSION};&"}]}
So, to be clear, only two things installed atm are Arnold (through packages) and GDT (through houdini.env) and there seems to be a conflict between the two of them.
What could be causing this?
regards, Jasper
They both are adding & to HOUDINI_PATH
That's the problem. Remove one of the &s
