XRef and IPR crash, renders fine to Picture Viewer

Hi,

I'm using quite a few XRefs in my scene, all with shaders and textures. Somehow this crashes the IPR. I've narrowed it down to the shaders (if I remove them from my XRefs, IPR is stable)

If I make the XRefs editable the problem also disappears.

Is there a way to get some more info on why this crashes? The console does not give my any specific information.

Hope someone can help me out.

All the best,

Bas

Can you send me a simple scene?

Hi Peter,

Trying to prepare a simple scene for you really narrowed the problem down.

I found a solution which involved assigning the shader to each mesh instead of the parent null.

See the screenshot for the setup which gave the crash. Sadly I cannot share the file because of the assets used (It only crashes when there are a lot of XRefs in the scene).

I really tried to replicate the crash in a simpler scene, but I just do not seem to be able to do that without a lot of assets in my scene.

Anyway, your post helped me to fix the problem anyways, thanks you very much for that.

All the best,

Bas
