White halo/fringe in alpha

Hi there, I'm rendering some passes on alpha and I'm getting a white fringe around my renders.

They're actually animated image sequences from After Effects - I've expanded the edges of my beauty pass textures (via a duplicated precomp that I've blurred) and I rendered a separate non-blurred alpha pass, so the issue shouldn't be in the textures. I'm using Geometry>Cutout Opacity to connect the alpha.

The objects look just fine overtop of other geometry - they just get a halo when they're in front of nothing (blank area).

I'm rendering 16-TIFFs with a straight alpha and am comping in After Effects. When the renders are over black they look fine, but when I add in a BG, I get a white fringe which I have to remove with a choker effect. I also tried EXRs with the same result.

Any ideas about how to avoid this?  See attached image for details. Thanks!Alpha issue.jpgThanks.

Sorry, I missed this one. Can you share the scene with the textures to take a look?
