Using a surface deformer with c4dtoa

I have built a character and I am using a surface deformer to allow some objects like laces etc fix to their position on my character. This works in my IPR but when I hit render the objects with the surface deformer on seem to remain in their initial position instead of following the character. Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

First I would check if the problem is in Arnold or in Cinema 4D. What happens if you render with the Standard or Physical Renderer? Do the objects positioned properly there?

Hi Peter, it seems it is to do with arnold. rendering with Physical Renderer is fine.
