Is there an ETA as to when Arnold will support Apple Silicon with Cinema 4D? Is it even being worked on?

It‘s not bad at all. Good enough to see what you are doing in the project.

For 2 years (or 3?) we could not get reflection support for Shadow Matte surfaces with GPU. Recently we got “shadows” only. We can exclude/include lights since last month. So, I guess you should not wait for it for a long time.

mmm bummer.. with the upcoming M1X, I hope it will be supported in the near future.
Maybe not using the GPU (yet), but at least not having to run Cinema4D in Rosetta mode will be a nice welcome.Looking forward to it.

It's very sad, because Arnold is the best renderer on the market, in my opinion. But at the moment I'm testing Redshift. In the near future, all Apple computers will be upgraded to Apple Silicon. Then it would be too inconvenient to still use Rosetta and hope that Arnold will be developed further for the Mac. I haven't given up hope yet, but it doesn't seem to look good. No Metal-Suport and also no M1 support.

I think it would be important as an Apple user to get an honest answer. Will there still be support on M1 and Metal, or do we have to say goodbye to Arnold? I can't imagine that there is no roadmap from the developers that could be shared with us.

Arnold 7 without native M1(X Pro or Max) support? I am a bit disappointed here. We also Use C4D for Motion Graphic's and together with Redshift this is amazing faster than our ADSK solutions. Arnold developer it would be kindly appreciated to give a roadmap for the M1 people please.

As Peter wrote above, we are working on it. But we cannot give dates or an ETA, or make any roadmap disclosures.

I had hoped that version 7 would support the M1. The release notes no longer say that Rosetta would have to be used. But apparently that is still the case. Arnold is the best renderer I know in terms of render quality and workflow. Support for M1 seems to be in sight at some point. For Metal probably not. That's not such a good outlook for the future. How long has Apple Silicon been around now? ...
