Rolling back to older license?

Is there any way to roll back my Arnold C4DtoA license to an older version that would be compatible with a 4-year-old scene file?

I bought (what I thought) was a perpetual license for C4DtoA right before Autodesk took control of Arnold (5 years ago?). Every year I renewed the grandfathered-in maintenance agreement until the start of 2022 when Autodesk removed that option and I would be forced to move to the the monthly/annual subscription model. I opted not to do that as I'm growing increasingly hesitant to continue using Arnold as there's STILL no Apple Silicon-native version on the horizon.

I was hoping to use the last version of C4DtoA I could access before December 31, 2021 and make do with that while waiting to see what would happen. I was initially using version 3.1.1.1 of C4DtoA with R23, and that was working fine for my purposes. I then wanted to use version 4.0.2 in R25, so I installed that. However, that was rendering with the watermark, so I went to my Autodesk account and generated a new license (which I guess was required for this never version of the plugin). Unfortunately, updating the license to work with version 4.02 results in Arnold rendering with a watermark in R23 running 3.1.1.1.

The reason this is a problem is because I'm attempting to open a scene created 4 years ago, and it repeatedly locks up the IPR and the entire C4D R25 app. The scene opens fine in R23 running 3.1.1.1, but it's covered by the watermarks.

So am I hosed? I'm betting I'm hosed.

Thank you.

When I go to my Autodesk account I don't see any evidence that I ever had C4DtoA. It used to be listed; now it's gone.

Hi Shawn

If you are not on active maintenance or subscription, you no longer have previous version rights. That means you can use the last version of Arnold that you "activated" during the term of your maintenance contract.

The network license you generated would be for ARNOL_2022 (C4DtoA 4.0.0.1 to C4DtoA 4.0.3.2)

Thank you for the quick reply. That's unfortunate for me. I guess I'll have to examine what my options are regarding a renderer going forward.

Best.
