Rendering AOV with alpha in C4DtoA?

I cant get my AOVs to render with alpha. Am I missing something?

I rendered the default "diffuse" AOV and a custom "diffuse_alpha" AOV with the same LPE but I changed the data type to RGBA. But the default AOV and custom AOV came out the exact same.

I'm using a Arnold driver exr to save the files.

Seems to work fine for me, basically the same setting you posted:

Hmm weird. Just tried in a new scene and its still not working. I attached my scene with my output files. Would you be able to render and see if you get the same output.

Note, that the skydome contributes to the alpha if visible to camera rays. See https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/arnold-for-3ds-max/skydome-light-how-to-disable-visibility-in-alpha-c...
