Who can save me from this non sense !? 😉

Screenshot 2025-05-15 214230.png

I could counter act of course to have the color I input only after being gammaed.. but this does happens only in c4d.. so for the same color I have two different colors in two different DCCs 🙂 Is there a flag somewhere to keep the color as it is written down ?

The color in the code is always in render space. The color displayed on the Cinema 4D interface depends on the color management settings (Edit > Scene Settings > Color Management). I suppose you use the default Basic color management, which means the interface displays colors in sRGB space. So everything seems to be correct. When you render the scene, the color is converted to the render space, so you should end up with the correct render.

I recommend switching to OpenColorIO in Cinema 4D, and you'll get more controls on the interface, like input colors in different color spaces, including the render space (ACEScg in this case).

Yeah sorry didn't even take the time to check from code what was the value returned and I thought I had color mgmt disabled but it appears it was still srgb.

However to me it does not make sense to have colors from UI slots color managed by default.
