Mesh deformer object and motion vector aov

Hey, I am trying to get the motion vector aov to work for a character to apply motion blur in post. I have a high poly model of the character and a low poly one that is rigged and animated. The conversion from one to the other works via the c4d mesh deformer. The motion vector aov seems to ignore the character completely. When rendering out motion blur directly through arnold it looks super fine. How do I get it to work?
