In Cinema 4D standard render, you can use .lns files (which are produced using C4D's lens distortion tool) directly on render settings to distort the final render, so it will fit your original, lens-distorted footage.

Unfortunately, when Arnold is chosen as the render engine, the option to use these files is no longer available. So, is there a way to use those .lns files with Arnold somehow?

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

No. C4DtoA would have to translate that into something Arnold does support.

Ok, thanks! Would you know of any workflow by which I could do this translation? Arnold cameras do support distortion maps, right? So maybe there is a way to translate these files or scenes into distortion maps?

No, Arnold cameras don't support distortion maps.

I suspect you would need a custom camera, maybe something like the raytraced mode of this custom camera: http://zenopelgrims.com/zoic/
