Is Fur supported?

Hoping someone can help...

I have no problem getting hair to render but fur does not seem to play ball.

Simple example shown in screen shot. The top is hair and the sides are fur.

Both show in the VP but only hair renders. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Sorry, the Fur object is not supported, only Hair.

Thanks for the info Peter. You might want to update the user guide as it mentions fur so it could get confusing.

Can you show me where is it mentioned?

It's listed under Limitations here: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFCUG/FAQ

https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFCUG/Standard+Hair

It mentions fur in the first line. I assumed this to mean the fur object 🙂

It's a generic description of the standard_hair shader, used in all plugin docs, but I see how it can be misleading. Thanks.

Yes, sorry but Fur is not supported. It's a technical limitation, there's no SDK support for Fur.
