iridescent glass material help please

hello I wanted to know how I can achieve an iridescent glass material like the picture I've attached. I've seen a lot of tutorials but only in redshift and octane 7256-m4hy7h3nlmk11.jpg

Those are my results, I also found out that there are no intersections and when I increase specular roughness it becomes brighter-this is referring to the metal base that was dark... I put the iridescent material problems in the screenshots Thanks @

I downloaded your file and was able to get pretty close to the same result. A lot of the differences comes down to lighting. I did the following:

  1. Thin Film IOR: I set the Thin Film IOR to 2.5. Different values will directly change how the rainbow colors appear as reflections - higher values make it look more shiny/chrome like. You had yours set too low.
  2. Ray Depth: Your "black stuff" was caused by not having enough specular light bounces in your render settings. If you have something shiny and the light is going to bounce around on the inside, you need more specular depth. I set Specular Ray Depth to 5.
  3. Dispersion: In your Iridescense material, it helps if you add some Dispersion to your Transmission channel. You had none, but I set Dispersion Abbe to 25.
  4. Caustics: With light passing through a transparent object, it'll look more realistic if you render the caustics. In Advanced tab of your material, check on Caustics and make sure "Internal Reflections" is also checked on.
  5. Noise Scale: I think your noise was a bit too detailed. I changed the scale from 5 down to 2.

Yoo thanks man for the breakdown... I didn't have much time to experiment, I increased transmission ray depth and didn't try specular ray depth.
