Hey,
why the tutorials in Arnold Renderer are so incomplete?
In the Flakes Example, for instance, I don't understand if I have to connect the same shader in the diffuse color, or which setting I should use in the flake shader. Or if I have to connect the flake shader to normal with a bump shader.

It should work fine if you follow this step:

  • If we want variations in the color of the flaked reflection, we need to have the Flakes in a lower layer (Normal - Bump Mapping under the Geometry section).

Base isn't necessary in this tutorial. It is a specular effect.
