How Does One Create A "Normal" Shader?

It seems that no matter what training video I watch, or article I read, they always seem to have/use, "Normal" shaders.

Now I can't for the life of me find, let alone create, any shader with the, "Normal" moniker. If I Right-Click in the Node Editor, and try to create a, "Normal" displacement shader, as shown above, my only option is, "Arnold Displacement Shader".

How are they obtaining this, "Normal" moniker, and how does it differ from the one I can create?

Don't use the New Node menu. The editor is Xpresso based, but works different, the menu and the traditional Xpresso nodes are there only because they could not be removed because of the SDK limitation.

Search for Arnold shaders in the shader tree on the left and drag & drop them. Or press Ctrl + TAB to open the quick search window.

peter_horvath,

Thank you for responding to my query, as well, I would like to thank you for that informative link dealing with the Arnold Shader Network Editor. Greatly appreciated.
