Have motion vectors EVER worked properly in After Effects?

I've had RSMB Pro Vectors for After Effects for over 15 years, and I've never been able to get it to create expected results. Has anyone EVER got it to work with a real project (ie: multiple objects moving over static elements)? There are other threads here and a small collection of tutorials that supposedly describe a workflow, but all of those appear to be carefully designed to hide the limitations of creating motion blur in post production using motion vectors (produced from both the Arnold and native C4D renderers.)

Or are my expectations too high for a simple, straightforward approach? For instance, if I have a house of cards that flies apart do I have to isolate every single card with a matte and apply RSMB individually to each?

Thanks.

Shawn
