Hi,

I have some displacement artifacts on the edge (on the top) of my object. See attached file.

What caused this to happen?

I have activated autobump to smooth out the "artifacts" but that doesn't work.

I use a subdivision of 2 iterations and the type is catclark.

What happens with more iterations? What do the wireframe and normals look like?

Hi Lee,

Thanks for responding. More iterations don't seem to work. And i guess the normals are fine 🙂 I think the problem occurs when i use sculpting? I have included the scene file, maybe this will be more of help.

I couldn't upload the HD version of the displacement map because it's around 30mb. I have included a "downgraded" version

This is what I get with 3 subdivisions. 8 iterations killed my machine (do you really need that many?).

i guess the 8 iterations was still there when i tried to use an "extreme" value. Is this with the sculpting activated? Because then the artifact occurs.

I just reduced the iterations and rendered.
