Can you render xptrails like this in C4DtoA?

In this demo https://youtu.be/nRgDMUnwldM?list=PLgSzrPEe-sbTBCR7oSKyZybFL-ukcBQiA&t=2273 the presenter says only Cycles4d can do this and the standard render.

I tried to set it up like in the video but no luck.

Last time I checked there was no trail support in the X-Particles API. I'm not sure how the Standard Render does this, if that's true.

There's a "Get Trail Data" node and "xpTrailPoints" node in XPresso. I'm not well versed in xpresso but could that work?

Xpresso nodes can not be used in the Arnold shader network.
