Arnold GPU rendering cached particles crashes every 50 frames.

Hi all,

idk if it is Arnold or C4D. But I have a very strange situation: I have a fireworks animation with C4Ds new Particle system. Cached the lot (15GB). And now rendering with Arnold GPU. And strangely enough, the process (running in C4Ds Render Queue) crashes exactly every 50 frames.

I can easily resume after that. But only for the next 50 frames.

I'm a bit in a rush now. But I'll rid the scene file of all corporate models and upload it here.

For now I just wanted to check if anyone may already have an idea on how this is happening.

TYVM,

Uli

The "exactly 50 frames" part sounds odd. I would have suspected running out of VRAM, but that would happen in different frames each run. If you experience the same issue in a simplified scene, then please share it here and I'll take a look. Could be also interesting to see if the same happens with CPU render.

It happened at exactly 50, 100 and 150 frames. Found that very odd. So I posted here. As it turns out so often: after I posted, it rendered to the end without any more problems 😂

Maybe it was just coincidence.

Anyway, I wish everyone at your team a mellow christmas and an awesome new year!
