For the last few versions of Arnold and C4D (2025 and 2026) when clicking on Help > About C4DtoA you get an error.

It's working for me with the very latest version of C4DtoA.

That feature (checking for updates) has to connect to an external URL that has the latest version number

So glad its working for you 🙂 Not that helpful though.

I have no issue connecting to the internet, I don't use firewalls etc. Like I said, installing C4D 2026 and a clean install of Arnold, I get the same issue. It started at some back on C4D 2025. No errors in the log.

And another little Quality-of-Life thing... Cinema 4D crashes if I select "Desktop Analytics..." from the Arnold Help menu. It sends me to https://profile.autodesk.com/settings/desktop-products, which surely can't be correct? I think Arnold knows this because it crashes C4D immediately after opening the Safari window. Smart renderer... 😁

All the other menu options work OK.

I can reproduce it on Mac in Cinema 4D 2026. Windows and other Cinema 4D versions on Mac seem to be fine, The plugin runs a python script to query the latest available version.  Something must have changed in the python executor in Cinema 4D 2026. I try to fix this in the next release.

I have to disappoint you, the renderer is not that smart and the link is actually correct. This is a known issue on Mac in the analytics component, which happens only when running from Cinema 4D for some reason, we haven't been able to fix it yet.

But the link is correct, you can opt-in/out at https://profile.autodesk.com/settings/desktop-products.
