Hello, does anyone know if there is any step by step instructions out there on how to use The Arnold build in denoiser in C4DtoA ? Or even a test project file that one can study? I didn't quite get on how to use it in the manual. Thank you.

  1. Open the Arnold Renderer Settings
  2. Click the Denoiser tab
  3. Expand the Input
  4. Click Create EXR Driver
  5. Render
  6. In the Render Settings, go to the Arnold > Denoise tab and load (Input) the exr files output by the Arnold denoiser driver
  7. Click Denoise

Thank you Stephen. Before seeing your reply, after trial and error, it's exactly what I did and it worked fine. Instead of clicking 'create EXR driver', before rendering, I selected 'EXR driver for Arnold denoiser' under the C4DtoA plugin sub-menu. That automatically created all the AOVs needed to denoise. Thanks again!

Are you denoising the files output by the EXR driver, of the files output by CINEMA 4D?

You have to use the files output by the EXR driver .

Is it just me or does this not do anything? I do all the steps exactly only to get the denoised outputted exrs looking exactly the same as the originals

Does anyone have any insights into why my denoised exrs look exactly the same as the originals. As per previous comments...

Hey Stephen, I've followed your instructions but can't get the denoiser to affect my sequence of images. The denoised exrs look exactly the same as the originals. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Maybe you need to tweak the denoiser settings? Try increasing the variance.
