After updating C4D, all my textures are blank images

I updated from 2024.1 to 2024.2 and now all my scenes I load have black images with red lines borders.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I didn't change anything, and it kept all my previous settings from my last installation.

The image renders fine.  My project asset inspector shows all the images loaded just fine, but now my nodes don't have any textures visible.

Are the texture paths correct? Any errors in the log file?

no errors.  The texture paths are all correct and unchanged.  All of my settings are the exact same.

You just updated Cinema 4D and the plugin is the same? What's your c4dtoa version btw?

If you open the Arnold Tx/Asset Manager, do the paths look ok there? What if you reset the path in the image shader, or do any changes in the shader that triggers a preview update? Does it still black after the update? There should be some error messages in the console.

4.6.6.2

no errors or anything.  All nodes just black like that.

Maybe if I upgraded to the newest version?

There is a bugfix it says fixes

  • C4DTOA-3124 - Node Material preview error after autosave

I just think it's weird if that is affecting me because these are new scenes and old scenes that it happens for.

I updated to the newest Arnold version and it works perfectly now.

This is why I always hesitate to update apps.  Something bad always happens.

I once had to do a total system reinstall because of a faulty AUDIO DRIVER for my motherboard, no thanks to Gigabyte.

I'm glad it works now, although I can't explain why updating Cinema 4D would cause this.
