Why do i get this dark area?

- Checked the normals - they are ok!

- Diffuse bounces high

The scene is lit with a HDRI Image.

To get this dark area lighten, i have to place an extra light and cranck it up hard(of course that´s not what i want)

Thanks for your help! Greets!

What is the specular ray depth? If that doesn't do it, can you upload the scene somewhere?

There seems to be something wrong with the geo. When I rotate one of the sides it renders fine.

There are a couple of things going on here.

You have set Specular rays to 4. Increase this to 10.
You are not letting enough specular rays in, and it darkens the tunnel area.
Doing 10 specular or around will raise the brightness of the interior.

You also have 1.0 in Metalness, if you decrease this to 0.9 or 0.95 you let more birghtness in as well.

I dont get a fully black interior when I load your scene, so make sure you have the latest version of arnold install as well.

The nature of this tunnel will make it darker than the exterior but with above tweaks I can make it look much brighter without having to solve a mesh normal issue.
