General Arnold 3dsmax questions / 3ds max AOV setup

Hi Stephen, long time fan since XSI and thanks for helping us here at the office to get Arnold running on at least one render machine. I feel 3dsmax is lacking a tiny bit on fully Arnold integration.

I got a few questions for anyone that may know.

Is there plans to bring the 3dsmax's Arnold integration up to speed with Maya's Arnold integration or is this it ? Is there room for Arnold to get faster on the CPU before getting GPU rendering features? Where is the heat_map filter for 3dsmax Arnold?

Lastly for those who need to know, this is how you set up render Passes/ AOVs in 3dsmax using Arnold in the image below.

Hi Nicholas

MtoA has a several-year head start. Yes, we plan to keep improving MaxtoA, It's being actively developed and there's developers working full-time on it.

Yes, we're constantly optimizing Arnold on the CPU.

In 3ds Max, there's one global filter, so I think heatmap was left off because it didn't make sense to apply to the whole scene. If that's really the case, then perhaps Maxtoa should automatically use the heatmap filter for AA_inv_density
