Black edge around objects with a camera projected opacity map

Hi there,

I'm trying to render an object using an opacity map that is camera projected, but a black edge appears around the object.

I've used both TIFF's and PNG's for the opacity map, with the same result. I've also tried turning off Luminance is Alpha, and the Opaque checkbox in the object settings.

Any ideas?

Do you have a simple scene that demonstrates the issue?

Hi Lee!

Thanks for the help and the amazing tutorials over the years.

I've uploaded the scene with textures and included two more screenshots to show what the image looks like in the viewport vs the render.

You can especially see the black edge that appears around the security camera, flag, and edge of the chairs

Any ideas would be super appreciated!

Np 🙂 It looks like the .tif used as the mask needs to be flattened. It has a lot of layer adjustments and layers that I don't understand as well as three alpha channels. Maybe these adjustments are affecting the alpha channel? How were the alpha channels originally created? I would try and simplify the scene/textures as much as you can so it makes narrowing down the issue a lot easier.
