Input dimensions from external source

Hi there,

First post here for me. I am just trying to see if there is a way to input dimensions into Fusion 360 API using an external source, say a text file, a web page or anything else that might work.

My idea would be to have an external input (for example a knob, a potentiometer) that could adjust dimensions of an object when being turned.

Is that possible? has anyone tried anything similar?

Thanks, Giulio

That should be possible.  You can have an add-in in Fusion reading external data and modifying the model based on that.  There are several different types of functionality that could be used, both inside Fusion to modify the model, and to read the external data, but what would be best will depend on your specific circumstances.
