Many Alias tutorials focus on recreating a design, whether from sketch or scan data. However, I think that for new users it is also interesting to help build their 3D form library. This could be achieved through showing what it takes to create different designs with completely different formal languages. For instance, how does creating the front of a BMW differ from a Mercedes and what about Ford and Volkswagen or a completely smooth design with no sharp lines? It doesn't necessarily have to be brand specific, but it helps getting the point across here. In general, it would be nice to see how a certain design language is created and what is specific about the created surfaces. So my question concerns not only the process of creating a design with a certain formal language, but also the "technical" characteristics of surfaces adhering to a certain design language. To make it more concrete, these tutorials could cover questions such as: BMW has S-shaped surfaces, whereas Mercedes uses 'something else', but what is this 'something else' and what does the S'ing in BMW surfaces entail?
