floating windows can't remember their size.

I have my object lister and shelves floating which means when I switch between modelling and visualise windows they always grow bigger. not an issue here as I just resize it. The issue arrises when you switch between tools. every time you choose a new tool and the new tool window pops up it grows. it get silly to the point where a floating tool window will take up over half the usable screen. Can this be fixed?

I will assume you are running 2024.  Alias tool windows remember their sizes per-workspace.  Windows should not grow.  You can have them remember their positions as well by de-selecting Use Common Window Positions in General Preferences.  Please describe your monitor situation (num of monitors scaling and such).
