Why does it Crahs exporting specific surfaces as STL

I have a model  which currently contains 3 pieces (1,2 and 3 in ascending complexity)

The outcome of File>Export>Rapid Prototype> varies drastically for these pieces

1 gives no problems at all, the mesh created is shown
2 crashes the program as soon as I select the piece. This problem exists going back in my saved files to a version where the program did not respond to my view commands

3 allows me to accept the the surfaces, but then nothing seems to happen and the piece is no longer selected

Any Idea what is going on and what I can do?

I have just verified that this works in Alias 2022...on data that I have. To do any further analysis would require access to the file...you can send it to me in a private message if possible...

I opened the file you sent named "drill.15 (battery complete).wire"

I can select each of the three pieces, selected export rapid prototype and can export them. No crashes no issues.

There are tolerance issues with your file, some edges are not built within the positional construction tolerances. This will mean that there are holes or gaps in the created STL file.

Also 1 part has duplicate surfaces that cause issues with the tesselation...

Can you provide info on your computer...OS, type, graphics card,etc...

Something other than Alias is causing your issue I believe.
