Tween ( curves creation between 2 curves)

Hi All,

I was tryling some stuff in Rhino ( sorry;) and noticed they had a tween function. Similar functions can also be found in 2d software like illustrator etc. It automatically creates curves between 2 curves with different shapes ( see att.) It look very cool and creates a wavy kind of pattern. However I could not find a function like this in Alias. Does anyone know if it exists? Thanks !

I can think of a few ways to do this in Alias. I don't think that there is a Tween or "Interpolate" tool though.

Here are my suggestions:

  1. Skin between the two curves, use the Insert tool to place a CoS somewhere on that skin surface and duplicate the CoS into a real curve.
  2. Skin between the two curves, use the Patch Precision tool to make a bunch of isolines and detach each one (I don't think that there is a way to detach many curves at once)
  3. Use Dynamo. I posted something similar a while ago on this forum. You can use this method or something along those lines to interpolate between two curves.

Hi Shinji,

Thanks for your feedback. I indeed tried it with adding a COS on a skin but unfortunately it's nowhere as easy as in that other software. The patch precision looks much better! Thanks.

I have no experience with dynamo but will be something for the future.

@richard.vinkA9AQ6 In case you want to have this feature included, you should post it to the ideas section of the forum and post the link to the idea here. 😉

Thanks. Will think about it. I first wanted to be certain that I wasn't missing anything:)

You can try "AnimSweep" too. It works with CV animation
