Subdiv to Maya export

Hello all,

I want to export a model to Maya as a rectangular polygon. It is modelled with subdivs.

Is it possible to export subdiv model, smooth like as it is seen on "User Defined Texture Diagnostic Shader" mode?

Select the mesh and from the polygon menu: Edit Mesh > Add Divisions. You can click the box next to the name to customize how many divisions you want. If you want to subdivi the mesh while smoothing it, you can select the mesh and go Mesh > Smooth. If you just want to preview a smooth mesh, press 3.

Your question is a bit vague...Im not sure what you mean by a rectangular polygon. There are a couple of ways to export a subd from Alias so it can be used in Maya. Fundamentally Alias and Maya represent Subdivision Surfaces differently.  Alias represents a Subd with surfaces, Maya represents Subdivision surfaces with polygons. Depending on what version of Alias and Maya you are using there are different workflows to transfer data between the two apps. You can select the subd in Alias, the select file->export active as Subd. This will create a OBJ file, name it whatever_you_want.obj

Then in Maya select file-Import->OBJ and select the "whatever_you_want.objThen in Maya you can work with it as a Subd...NOTE>Crease do not transfer using this method.
